Pasture Maintenance:
Cutting your pasture during livestock rotation is an important step to thickening your pasture grass and reducing noxious weeds without the use of chemicals or hazards of nitrogen buildup in dormant grass from fertilization. Maintaining hayfield grass length to 4 inches after cuts, even if you cut hay multiple times a year, increases your yield by limiting sunlight competition between fast growing weeds or spreading clover and your hay grasses. 3 Hills Farm understands that not everyone has the time or location to keep and care for their horse. Deciding where to board your horse is an important step to providing a healthy and nurturing environment for your equine friends. At 3 Hills Farm you can expect the best care possible for both our full board and pasture board horse residents.
Full Boarding includes: 12’x12’ stall; feeding 3 Hills Farm grown and baled hay twice a day based on weight of horse and owner desires; fresh watering daily; stall mucking twice a week or as required; turnout in single runs or pasture if desired by the owner; mineral licks in the stall; and 20 acres of outdoor riding to keep you and your horse fit.
Pasture Boarding includes: surface water access (pond) for drinking; pasture grazing when available and 3 Hills Farm grown and baled hay twice a day based on weight of horse and owner desires during the late fall, winter, and early spring; loafing shed for protection from the elements; and 20 acres of outdoor riding to keep you and your horse fit.
